Akhilesh is a Project Scientist working at the intersection of carbon project development and Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV).

His research spans voluntary carbon markets and Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) across forestry/AFOLU, blue carbon, Marine CDR, and engineered removals including DACCS, ERW, and geologic storage.

He has working knowledge of major carbon standards and frameworks, including VCS/Verra, Gold Standard, CDM, ICVCM Core Carbon Principles, CAR, and ACR.

His work bridges peer-reviewed climate science and applied carbon accounting, translating field-level monitoring data and methodological rigor into credible, standards-aligned assessments of project additionality, permanence, and quantification.
