Dr. Sukesh

Founding Member | Research & Forestry

Dr. Sukesh is a Co-Founding Director of VGEI, leading the company's research agenda and academic partnerships. A plant science researcher with over 20 years of experience, he brings a strong foundation in ecological research, biodiversity conservation, and scientific collaboration.

He completed his Master's and Ph.D. from the Department of Botany, Mangalore University, and was awarded the prestigious National Postdoctoral Fellowship (DST, Government of India) at MAHE, Manipal. His research focuses on plant-microbial interactions, endophytic fungi, plant bioprospecting, seed biology, AM fungi, and biodiversity conservation.

His work has contributed to the conservation of rare and endangered plant species, as well as advancements in fungal systematics and ecological studies. Dr. Sukesh has guided more than 15 M.Sc. projects, published over 15 research papers, and presented his findings at numerous national and international conferences.

He has served in academic leadership roles including BOS and BOE memberships and is a life member of the Mycological Society of India. Through his commitment to scientific excellence and environmental stewardship, he helps ensure that VGEI's initiatives are grounded in credible research and long-term ecological impact.
